Course Outline: Our workplace integrated telehandler Operator training program has been designed for those who are required to be trained to safely undertake work activities that involve the operation of a telehandler. This program uses a mix of training theory and practical telehandler operation to provide students the knowledge of how to operate the equipment safely.

For employers, this course will provide valuable documentation regarding the employees competency to safely operate a telehandler. Every course culminates in a practical skills evaluation where students are assessed for their ability to safely and competently operate the telehandler, as well as, there ability to thoroughly complete a pre-use inspection. The practical skills evaluation is tailored to the specific tasks and attachments workers will be expected to complete at their workplace, therefore, each assessment is unique to each employers needs based on the Ives Training Standard.

This course is ideally suited for students/employees who have some previous experience operating a telehandler. Attempting the course with no previous experience may result in additional training being required before competency can be demonstrated and certification received. Longer duration courses are available for those who require additional training.

DID YOU KNOW?

The documentation procedure is one of the most important steps for you to accomplish during your training program. Depending on where you are, regulations tell us that operators must be “qualified” or “adequately trained.” Regardless of how the regulations are worded in your area, what it all means is that the employer must have some kind of written record that can prove training and evaluation took place. The records that you retain become the basis of proof that may be required in the event of inspection and/or investigation. The Ives Training program gives you the documentation you need.
