Fall Protection

A complete, regulator-aligned fall protection program designed for industrial worksites in BC and Alberta. Built to deliver full competency with maximum efficiency and zero compromise in training quality.

Description

Audience: New and rectifying students

Certification: Alpha Training Solutions

Validity: 3 years

Delivery: Blended. Please read below for more information.

This program is built to meet the needs of industrial employers in British Columbia and Alberta: full compliance, strong worker competency, reduced downtime, and a training process that fits real operational schedules. Workers receive the same depth of instruction and the same practical skill development expected from a traditional full-day course, without the interruption that comes with spending full days in a classroom.

The course follows the complete fall protection workflow, including hazard identification, system types, equipment components, fall clearance calculations, inspection procedures, and rescue planning. Training modules include:

  • Identifying Fall Hazards and Planning Safe Work
  • Types of Fall Protection Systems
  • Fall Protection Equipment: Components and Use
  • Calculating Fall Clearance and Understanding Forces
  • Inspection, Care and Maintenance of Equipment
  • Basic Rescue Planning and Suspension Trauma

How the Blended Training Model Works

  • Register for the course. The date participants register for is the date of their practical training/assessment.
  • Receive an email with access to the online portion (participants are reminded to check junk/spam).
  • Complete the online theory before attending the practical training session.
  • Arrive for practical training and complete a short written test first.
  • This maintains assessment integrity and eliminates the need for proctored webcams or monitored online testing.
  • Complete the full practical training and assessment, identical to what is delivered in a traditional in-class course.
  • Receive certification upon successful completion.

Employer Benefits

  • Workers spend far less time away from the job.
  • Training is standardized across crews and locations.
  • The practical component is unchanged from the full-day course, ensuring real, verifiable competency.
  • Scheduling becomes easier, as workers complete theory independently and only attend a focused practical session.

Employee Benefits

  • Learn theory at a comfortable pace with clearer absorption of concepts.
  • Avoid classroom fatigue.
  • Demonstrate full hands-on proficiency with real equipment during the practical session.
  • Receive recognized certification accepted across British Columbia and Alberta.

A Real Example of this Delivery Method
Under traditional scheduling, a worker completing Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, and Confined Space would normally spend five full days in a classroom. Using the blended model, the same worker completes the online components independently and can finish all four practical assessments in just two days.
Same content. Same certification. Less than half the interruption
