First Aid Level 1

First Aid Level 1 is a basic workplace first aid course.

Description

Certification: WorksafeBC

Valid: 3 years

Prerequisites:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • 1 piece of Government Issued Photo I.D.
  • Wear modest clothing (no tanks) for working in close contact with other students
  • Wear socks
  • Be medically and physically apt to perform floor-work and first aid related activities

This course meets first aid requirements for:

  1. WorkSafeBC – Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1
  2. Canada Labour Code Basic First Aid.
  3. Alberta Occupational Health & Safety (Emergency First Aid)

Topics covered include:

  • Emergency scene management
  • Minor wound care
  • Airway obstruction
  • CPR-A with AED
  • Shock and severe bleeding
  • Medical emergencies

NOTE: This course includes CPR-A. If you require CPR-C (*WorkSafeBC does not require CPR-C for workplace training) please register for the Level 1 First Aid - CPR-C course.
