This program is designed for industrial employers in British Columbia and Alberta who require competent, compliant, and field-ready Confined Space Entrants, Attendants/Monitors, and Basic Rescue-Awareness personnel.
The blended model ensures full regulatory alignment, strong worker proficiency, and minimal operational disruption. Learners receive the same depth of instruction and the same practical skill development delivered in a traditional full-day course—without the downtime of spending an entire day in the classroom.
The course follows the complete confined space safety workflow, including hazard identification, atmospheric testing, classification, entry procedures, monitoring duties, rescue expectations, and emergency actions.
Training modules include:
-
Roles, Responsibilities & Regulatory Requirements
-

How the Blended Training Model Works
-
Register for the course.
-
Receive an email with access to the online theory (participants should check junk/spam).
-
Complete the online portion before attending the practical training session.
-
Arrive for practical training and complete a short written test first.
-
This maintains assessment integrity and eliminates the need for webcams or monitored online testing.
-
-
Complete the full practical training and assessment using real equipment and scenarios—identical to traditional in-class delivery.
-
Receive certification upon successful completion.
Employer Benefits
-
Workers spend significantly less time away from operations.
-
Training quality is standardized across crews and locations.
-
The practical component remains fully hands-on, ensuring measurable competency.
-
Scheduling becomes easier: workers complete theory independently and attend only a focused practical session.
Employee Benefits
-
Learn theory at a comfortable pace, improving clarity and retention.
-
Avoid long hours of classroom fatigue.
-
Demonstrate real operational proficiency during the hands-on practical.
-
Receive recognized certification accepted across BC and Alberta.
A Real Example of This Delivery Method
Under traditional scheduling, a worker completing Confined Space Entry & Monitor, Fall Protection, TDG, and Bear Awareness could spend up to four full days in a classroom.
With the blended model, the same worker completes the online theory independently and can finish all practical assessments in just one to two days.
Same content.
Same certification.
Less than half the interruption.
